BeachLife Festival Memorable Moments with The Beach Boys, Alanis Morissette, Sublime and More
@beachlifefestival Yesterday was a vibe. Packed stages. Cold drinks. Big singalongs. That sweet spot where the music hits and you forget what day it is. The crowd showed up—and the artists really showed out. Still feeling it? So are we. #BeachLifeFestival #BeachModeActivated #LiveMusicByTheOcean #OnlyAtBeachLife
Still Got the Beach, Still Got the Vibes.
The 6th Annual BeachLife Festival wrapped up last weekend on the shores of Redondo Beach—and it closed out with a heartfelt bang. Just two weeks after the glitter faded from Coachella, a very different kind of festival energy took over the coast. Forget influencers and VIP wristband flexing—BeachLife is about live music, sea air, and vibes that stretch across generations.
This year, more than 35,000 fans showed up to chase memories, make new ones, and sing along to the songs that raised them—from Gen Z teens humming along to Lenny Kravitz riffs, to Boomers mouthing every word to The Beach Boys. And everyone in between.

@beachlifefestival When the sign language interpreter is the real headliner… CAKE’s “Sheep Go to Heaven” hits different in ASL. BeachLife moments you don’t see coming. #BeachLifeFestival #CAKE #SheepGoToHeaven #ASLInterpreter #FestivalVibes #LiveMusicMagic #UnexpectedMoments #RedondoBeach #MusicForAll #InclusionRocks #FeelTheMusic

FRIDAY: Lenny Kravitz, Love, and… an iPad Kid
Friday’s headliner was none other than the genre-defying icon Lenny Kravitz, who opened with fresh material before going into a setlist full of hits: “It Ain’t Over ‘Til It’s Over,” “Fly Away,” “American Woman,” and an encore of the classic, “Let Love Rule.”
But one moment that perfectly captured the vibe? I saw a young kid sitting in the grass, completely glued to his iPad, while his parents jammed Lenny onstage. The generational handoff of live music, right there on the lawn. Digital babysitter meets rock legend.

@beachlifefestival Mt. Joy took us home on Sunday. Hands in the air, hearts in sync, and every lyric echoing across the harbor. One of those sets where strangers feel like old friends—and you never want it to end. #mtjoy @mtjoyband #beachlife2025
SATURDAY: Cake, Sublime, and Coastal Gloom
Despite gloomy skies and a misty breeze, Saturday ended up being even more packed than Friday. Cake brought their deadpan delivery and trumpet-laced classics like “Never There,” while The Pretenders reminded everyone why Chrissie Hynde still commands a stage like few others.
But the emotional centerpiece was Sublime. Reunited in a new form with Jakob Nowell—son of the late Bradley Nowell—on vocals, the band brought their Long Beach vibes to Redondo. “Santeria,” “What I Got,” “Doin’ Time” (the original, not Lana’s cover)—it wasn’t just music, it was memory with a pulse.
Mark McGrath from Sugar Ray made appearances both Saturday and Sunday, adding sunny ‘90s pop punch to the lineup.

SUNDAY: Alanis, Beach Boys, and a Full Circle Moment
By Sunday, the sun finally remembered it was Southern California. The Beach Boys rolled out the surf vibes with their joyful hits like “Good Vibrations” and “Wouldn’t it Be Nice” with John Stamos on drums and a surprise cameo from McGrath. It felt like a living scrapbook of California sound.
And then came Alanis Morissette to close the weekend. Still fierce, still fiery, and still every bit the cathartic queen she was in the ‘90s, Alanis brought the crowd to its collective knees with “You Oughta Know,” “Hand in My Pocket,” and a voice that hasn’t aged a day. She didn’t just close the festival—she owned it.

Beyond the Music: Extra Vibes Included
And beyond the big stages, there was plenty to stumble into—pop-up art, chill acoustic sets at the Speakeasy Stage, curated by Jim Lindberg of Pennywise, plus brand booths, silent auctions, beachy merch, and ocean-minded nonprofits keeping things grounded.
Michelin-starred Curtis Stone elevated the California Surf Club into the kind of VIP experience where you sip cocktails and crush scallops while watching bands.
Whether you dropped in for a day or stayed the whole weekend, BeachLife delivered. It’s not trying to be the biggest fest on the map—it just wants to get it right. And it does.
Live music, ocean breeze, and the songs you grew up on—there’s no better combo. Whatever the lineup looks like in 2026, we’ll be there.

@beachlifefestival 🎨🌊 “They said it was an interview… then they threw paint on me.” Welcome to BeachLife, baby — where the mayhem is real, the vibes are local, and Sublime’s spirit is louder than ever. Jakob Nowell (yes, that Nowell) showed up expecting a chill interview… and got ambushed with flying paint instead. Sorry Jakob — but if you’re playing BeachLife, we have to add a little color. 😅 Meanwhile, Sublime’s original heartbeat — Bud Gaugh and Eric Wilson — spoke to us, opening up about the bittersweet early days, the legacy of Brad, and why Jakob joining Sublime “just feels right”. 💬 Jakob: “Somewhere along the line, I realized the real reason we do any of this is to make people smile… And BeachLife? That’s the heartbeat of it all.” 🔥 Sublime is bringing it full circle May 3rd at BeachLife Festival in Redondo Beach. From side stages to the main stage, from Long Beach roots to global recognition — this show hits different. 🎶 Also on deck: Jesse James Pariah — a Sunburnt Records soul and all-around Goku-level legend 🌥️ Lenny Kravitz, Alanis Morissette, Cake and The Beach Boys — yes, that lineup is real. This isn’t just a festival. It’s a family reunion with a SoCal soundtrack. #Sublime #BeachLifeFestival #JakobNowell #BudGaugh #EricWilson #SunburntRecords #JesseJamesPariah #RedondoBeach #ThePiier #LongBeachVibes SoCalSound@Sublime @Jakob Nowell
