This Saturday, the Altadena community is coming together to host a FREE benefit event in support of families directly impacted by the devastating Eaton Canyon Fire. If you or someone you know has suffered significant loss from the Eaton Canyon Fire, we invite you to attend this event for essential support and resources. The event is also open to first responders who have helped with the fire response.

Join us at The World Famous Coin located at 755 E. Washington Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91104, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, and while supplies last. Don’t miss this opportunity to receive help and connect with the community.

Eaton Canyon Fire Benefit Event: First Come, First Serve – Parking, Donations, and Free Services

The Eaton Canyon Fire benefit event will operate on a first come, first serve basis, as we strive to assist as many families in need as possible. To ensure smooth access, we highly recommend carpooling, getting dropped off at the event, or using street parking. Alternatively, parking is available at Food4Less across the street. Please note, parking is limited, and the event is located on a high-traffic street in the Pasadena community.

We’re grateful for generous donations from brands such as NFI, Puma, Hanes, Hain Celestial, Kimberly Clark, VTech, Aden & Anais, Fever-Tree, Sprouts, and Mother’s Nutritional.

The event will feature complimentary services including food, haircuts for men, women, and children, massage therapy, a self-care zone, and live music provided by 93.5 KDAY. Plus, a special celebrity guest from the Pasadena community will be in attendance to show their support.

Weeks before Alfonso Soriano’s mother’s house was destroyed by the Eaton Fire, he was diagnosed with kidney failure. In the days immediately after the fire, his extended family was able to keep a roof over his head, but for weeks now, Alfonso, his wife and two children have been living in a hotel, while Alfonso continues to struggle with his health. When asked if he was okay, he said “healthwise, no. But we’re here. We’re all in this together. That’s all that matters.” Alfonso’s family is just one of the thousands who lost their homes in the Eaton Fire in Altadena and Pasadena. Nothing in their home was salvageable, Alfonso told FOX 11, including his wedding ring. When FOX 11 met with Alfonso and his son on Wednesday, all the clothes they were wearing had come from donation centers. “It’s been really stressful,” said Alexander Soriano, Alfonso’s son. “Mainly just stressing over my parents and their situation.” The Sorianos were able to secure temporary housing through “211 LA,” a non-profit organization partnered with companies like Hilton and Airbnb. The family will stay in their hotel room for at least another week and a half, but after that they say their situation is up in the air. #fire #reporter #eatonfire #breakingnews #fyp #losangeles #altadena #palisadesfire #news

Chelsea Kirk had a realization on the third day of the Southern California wildfires: “The rent is going to go up.” Acting quickly, she checked Zillow and found a rental listing that had increased its price by more than 10% in the wake of the fires. This hike was illegal. With Governor Gavin Newsom declaring states of emergency in both L.A. and Ventura Counties, California Penal Code 396 prohibits landlords from raising rent more than 10% above pre-emergency levels. Any increase beyond that is considered price gouging, a violation that could lead to criminal charges. Curious about the post-fire rental market and the media attention surrounding Chelsea’s now-viral google spreadsheet, @tom stopped by to hear her perspective.
