Yesterday before the Astros v. Cubs game, Travis Scott paid a visit to his hometown team and gave them a sneak peek at his new album, UTOPIA, as a pre-game soundtrack.
A video was posted to Twitter yesterday of Scott in the Astro’s dugout explaining to the camera that he “had to come here and play UTOPIA for the boys down in the locker room, had to get ‘em right for the game.” The album has been teased to fans since 2021 with drops of new verses and collaborations with artists including Kid Cudi and Future.
Epic Records stated earlier this year that UTOPIA would be released some time in June of 2023, and fans have been patiently waiting for an official release date. Scott has not discussed any release date yet, but in the video from Monday he tells the camera that the album is “on the way now.”
Travis Scott still has not given his fans a release date, but if it is “on the way now,” it seems as though it could be in perfect time for Epic Records’ timeline of June. Hopefully Scott will take to social media sooner rather than later and announce a true release date for UTOPIA, but until then, fans will just have to wait and see.
