The Hillbillies: Banjos & Beats or Kendrick & Baby Keem?

To finish off their headlining set at Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival, Kendrick Lamar and Baby Keem called on Tyler, the Creator to help them finish the festival strong with a debut of their new song, “The Hillbillies.”

The festival saw a star-studded lineup with hit artists including Ice Spice, Kali Chis, Lil Yachty, Dominic Fike and more. Of course, headliners included the Hillbillies Kendrick Lamar and Baby Keem, alongside SZA and Tyler, the Creator himself.

The Hillbillies closed out the festival on Saturday night with a lengthy 24-track setlist. Before gracing the stage with their newest hit, the duo began by performing solo tracks by each of them while scattering in collaborative tracks, like “Family Ties,” “Range Brothers,” and “Vent.” The pair invited festival head Tyler, the Creator on stage to help them finish their set off strong and perform their new Grammy-nominated single, “The Hillbillies.”

It was only fitting for Tyler to join Kendrick and Baby Keem on stage, as the music video for “The Hillbillies” featured Tyler’s announcement of Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival 2023. The headlining performance brought about a full circle moment.

On Sunday, the audience saw performances from PinkPantheress, Lil Yachty and Dominic Fike before headliner SZA came in to close out the carnival, leaving fans with a heavy dose of post- concert depression.
