Soulection & Framework Takeover Expo Park West
Soulection in the Park at Exposition Park West was the party we all desperately needed. With free entry via RSVP, thanks to the event’s host: Framework, the perfect mix of fun & entertainment were accomplished. Music, food, drinks, and stunning weather had every music lover flooding the space ready to dance the night away under the twilight sky. The weather was great. The vibes were great. The music was great. Great times were had.
The night was epic for all who attended, with none other than Joe Kay, the founder and CEO of Soulection, gracing us with his presence. Joined by Soulection veteran Andrés Jaribe and a lineup of collaborators including Abstract Dre, RUDEBOY, Viva Latina, Earry Hall, and Mango & Ginger, the evening was a vibrant and rowdy celebration nestled under the trees of the Exposition Park Rose Garden.
Soulection, known worldwide for pioneering the “Sound of Tomorrow” with their eclectic mix of hip-hop, trap, soul, house, tribal, future beats and more, once again delivered an unforgettable experience for diehards and newcomers alike.
In collaboration with Framework, one of the best Dance Music Event Producers, here are some of the best moments from Soulection At The Park:
Abstract Dre and RUDEBOY ignited the evening–
–with vibrant performances each, that set the perfect tone for what was to follow. As members of the GoodMood music community in Los Angeles, Abstract Dre (Andrea Morales) and RUDEBOY (Justin Avila) boast styles that fit lockstep with Soulection’s own brand. It’s no wonder Joe and Andrés brought them in. A mix of reggae, house, hip-hop, and more could be heard up and down Exposition Blvd proving the Soulection x Framework Takeover Expo Park West was drawing the attention of anyone and everyone in hearing range. Both attendees who knew about the event and those intrigued to learn more about it unaware of what was taking place, Soulection At The Park created fans from all directions of the park. Together, Abstract Dre and RUDEBOY set the stage for what would be an epic night.
As the sun set, Viva Latina took the stage–
–and transformed the park into a pulsating epicenter of energy. As a member of the music group, Hardly Home, Viva was right at home throwing it down for Soulection. She and her entourage of hype-women put on a masterclass in building momentum, taking the crowd from a steady groove to an all-out frenzy! The stage lights came alive as her beats shook the ground, creating an electrifying atmosphere that had everyone jumping. Tracks like “Free Mind” (Duncan R32 Remix) by Tems and “O Let’s Do It” (Feat. Cap) by Waka Flocka Flame, elevated the vibe, making it impossible for anyone to stand still.

Earry Hall kept the momentum soaring–
–with a dynamic and intense mix of hip-hop and future beats that had the crowd singing along to every word. Earry is the owner of the Continental Club in downtown LA and founder of the SeeYouSoon party series hosted there. The synergy between Earry and the audience was palpable; every drop and transition was met with cheers and hollers. From “Back To Life” by Soul II Soul, “I Wonder” by Kanye West, to “Int’l Players Anthem” by UGK, the crowd was in an uproar.
Then came the moment everyone had been waiting for.
Joe Kay, the visionary behind Soulection, took over the decks. Known for his eclectic taste and style, Joe Kay didn’t disappoint. His set was a journey through genres, switching between songs like “If” by Davido, “Princess Going Digital” by Amaarae, and a “Champion” remix by Kanye West I still can’t identify. Each track was carefully “soulected,” not just showcasing the Soulection sound, but also highlighting the depth and diversity of Joe Kay’s musical prowess. It was a set that reminded everyone why Soulection has become a global force in music.
The grand finale was delivered by Mango & Ginger–
–who closed the night with a fiery performance that was nothing short of spectacular. Mixing high-energy beats with infectious grooves, Brazilian DJ duo Ka and Mata had the crowd going mad. Their chemistry was undeniable as they bounced around to “Me dê Amor” by Sango, “Space Jam” by Quad City DJ’s, and other insane reggaeton/dembow beats, creating a set that was as much about fun as it was about technical skill. It was the perfect ending to a night that had already surpassed all expectations, leaving everyone buzzing with excitement as they spilled out of the park and into the night.
Soulection in the Park wasn’t just an event, it was a celebration–
–of music, community, and the bonds that form from the collective experience. From the first beat to the last, it was clear that this was more than just a party; it was a moment in time that will be remembered as one of the best free events in the Summer of 2024!
Kudos to Framework for yet again, another successful event.
