Not the Usual Horrors of a Son’s Room

Late this Sunday in South Los Angeles, a mother went to check on her son in his room only to find a woman’s body wrapped in plastic.

The mother told police that she went into her 26-year-old son’s room around 1:15 AM because she noticed a “distinct gas smell.” Upon entering the room, there was a dead body wrapped in plastic and her son was no where to be found. She immediately called the police and requested emergency assistance. When the paramedics arrived, they pronounced the woman dead.

Yesterday, they identified the woman as 30-year-old Hannah Rachel Collins, but they have not released the name of the suspected killer, simply describing him as a 26-year-old Hispanic man. The police have been looking for the man since the discovery was made Sunday night. You would think they would be trying to warn the public a little better if there were a murder on the run, but they’re the detectives.

Police have released little information about the ongoing investigation. We know that there were no immediate hints as to how Collins was killed or how long she has been dead. The LAPD is currently conducting a homicide investigation hoping to find more answers for Collins’ untimely death. No arrests have been made in this case so far.
