After announcing his new sneaker collaboration with New Balance a few months ago, Aminé’s brand Club Banana has finally released their final tease along with a release date.
Months ago, the rap artist took to Instagram to announce the collaboration sneaker with a short promo video showing his billboard in his hometown. The billboard sports Club Banana motifs, with the brown and yellow theme and two boxes of bananas sitting aside of the words “A Kid From Portland Has His Own Sneaker.” Aminé has been teasing the sneakers on his Instagram account ever since, giving customers a closer look at the new product.
The shoes remain true to Club Banana, with a brown and yellow color way resembling an aging banana. Panels of iridescent material are accented around the sneakers, complimenting the color palate. The shoes sport both brands’ logos with a unique snow globe badge under the ankle with New Balance’s “610” logo steadfast & a bushel of bananas floating around inside the badge. The non-snow globe version of the co-branded logo also sits on the tongue of the shoes alongside a high-tech toggled lacing system.
Yesterday Club Banana posted a new promotional video on Instagram with an official release date of August 22nd. The sneakers will only be available on the Club Banana website. They are expected to drop on the New Balance site within a few weeks after the original release.
