Sony and Microsoft recently released their next-generation consoles recently, both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Nintendo, on the other hand, has decided that they won’t be releasing a new model of Switch in 2020. During a recent presentation for investors, Nintendo released a statement on the issue: “Regarding Nintendo Switch, we believe that it is important to continue to communicate the appeal of both Switch systems and expand the installed base. Please note that we have no plans to launch a new Nintendo Switch model during 2020.” There have been many rumors circulating about a new version of the game system available in 2020, perhaps a Switch Pro. Nintendo would rather prioritize working to progress their existing platforms, battery life, and focus on developing new games as well.
