The Air Max 1 ’86 “Big Bubble” has returned, and Nike is preparing to release a new model on Air Max Day.
This sneaker is a fully new design, although it does incorporate some familiar elements. The new sneaker is called the Nike Air Max Pulse and combines a heel bubble reminiscent of the Air Max 270 with a newly designed upper and midsole. The heel of the Air Max is said to use a point-loaded system that helps to distribute weight.
Some details on the new sneaker include textile wrapping on the back half of the midsole, a soft forefoot foam, engineered mesh construction, and a reflective hit on the backtab. The model also introduces new Air Max branding, which can be seen on the heel below.
The Air Max Pulse is set to release on March 26 for Air Max Day and goes for $150 from the Nike App and other select retailers. Following the Air Max Day debut, people can expect to see the sneaker in various colorways as the year goes by.
