Yesterday, Lil Wayne took to Instagram to share what appears to be the cover art with the title ‘Tha Fix Before Tha VI,’ hinting that a new project will be coming soon.
The image in the post was of Lil Wayne, himself, iced out with chains and rings as he wears his iconic cheetah print jacket and sunglasses. The entire image has a bright red hue across it, keeping Lil Wayne and the title standing out in black and white.
Wayne posted this cover art to his Instagram account with no caption at all, and just a pre-save link added to his Instagram bio. This has left fans and followers speculating whether ‘Tha Fix Before Tha VI’ is a mixtape or an actual album, with high hopes of another ‘Tha Carter’ album on the horizon.
Based on the name of the project, it seems like ‘Tha Fix Before Tha VI’ may be a smaller drop before Wayne hits fans with the true ‘Tha Carter VI’ album. Wayne announced the sixth installment of his ‘Tha Cater’ album series last year, but has not given many updates on its timeline since. Lil Wayne has also been collaborating with 2 Chainz on ‘ColleGrove II,’ the release of which has been delayed a couple times already, and is finally expected to drop it this November.
Yesterday Lil Wayne continued his teasing of new projects, posting a video teaser with Tyga and YG. The video shows off snippets of Wayne and Tyga’s verses as they film a music video and even features the voice of Snoop Dogg saying “that mothaf*cka don’t miss, man.” This
time, Wayne gave his followers a caption, telling them “@Tyga x @yg Brand New 9/27🤙 .”
Whether or not this song with Tyga and YG is included as part of ‘Tha Fix Before Tha VI,’ everyone is still unsure. Only time, or Lil Wayne himself, will tell what this new project will reveal itself as. Until then, fans and followers are staying on the edges of their seats waiting for Wayne’s latest release.
