In the early hours of the morning this Tuesday, police responded to a call in San Francisco where they found Cash App creator and chief product officer at MobileCoin, Bob Lee, with life-threatening stab wounds.
Police reported that tech executive Bob Lee, the creator of Cash App and former chief technology officer of Square, was fatally stabbed early on Tuesday near downtown San Francisco.
Around 2:35 a.m. on Tuesday, according to the San Francisco Police Department, officers went to a report of a stabbing. Police reported that they discovered a male, 43, who appeared to have been stabbed.
The man was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, where he eventually passed away, according to the police.
The CEO of MobileCoin announced on Wednesday that Lee “passed away yesterday” and complimented his company, along with a plethora of tributes across social media.
As of Wednesday morning, there have been no arrests made and little information on the assailant.
