Bape Sued by Nike, Collabs with Adidas

Bape and Adidas collaborated for the first time in 2003 to create the “Super Ape Star,” beginning a relationship that would have a lasting cultural impact and last for twenty years. Together with the 20th anniversary of their partnership, Bape is also marking its 30th year in the streetwear industry this year. Beginning in April, Bape and Adidas will debut a run of five products that blend the distinctive elements and visuals of the former with the most famous styles of the latter.

To start, the iconic streetwear label and the sportswear giant have reworked the Campus 80s. The pair dons a simple navy-based suede upper with Bape’s star logo alternating with Adidas’ 3-Stripes branding on the sides. There’s also a special 30th Anniversary logo stamped on the tongue, along with a gold lace dubrae attached at the forefoot. Each pair is packaged in a custom-printed box.

Bape has worked on the Campus before, collaborating on a three-way iteration with Undefeated and Adidas in 2013.

The navy-colored Bape x Adidas Campus 80 collab will be released on April 1 at adidas.com, bape.com, and select stockists, with additional collaborative drops between the two following in the months ahead.
