About a month after Euphoria star Angus Cloud tragically passed away, his cause of death has finally been determined and revealed as an accidental overdose of fentanyl and other drugs.
Just a short time after his father passed away from lung cancer, Angus Cloud passed away on July 31st. His family and friends told the public that it had been a time of “immense struggle” for Cloud. Many speculated that his cause of death had been drug related, but due to Cloud’s openness about his struggles with mental health, some were concerned it was an intentional overdose.
Cloud’s mother refuted these rumors of suicide on social media after her son’s passing, telling her followers that she had just been talking to him about his future and he showed no signs of suicidal thoughts and “did not intend to end his life.” The coroner’s office of Alameda County confirmed that the overdose that took Cloud’s life was indeed accidental, as he passed from “acute intoxication” from “combined effects of methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl and benzodiazepines.”
Upon his passing, his family released a statement that said: “It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today. As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways. Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is reunited with his dad, who was his best friend. Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence. We hope the world remembers him for his humor, laughter and love for everyone. We ask for privacy at this time as we are still processing this devastating loss.”
Cloud went to school with Zendaya at the School of Production Design at Oakland School for the Arts and went on to pursue his career in acting. Aside from his most popular role in Euphoria, Cloud cameoed in movies, including ‘North Hollywood’ and ‘The Line,’ and in music videos, working with Juice WRLD, Becky G and Karol.
The beloved actor passed away in his family home in Oakland, California at the young age of 25. Cloud has been and will continue to be greatly missed as an artist, friend, son and brother. Hopefully the final coroner report will give his family, friends and fans some peace.
