This June, Valentino will be back in Milan for Men’s Fashion Week after 3 years of running co-ed lines and runway shows.
Milan Men’s Fashion Week will kick off with the Valentino show and run for 4 days, through June 20th. Valentino’s show, “Valentino The Narratives,” will occur on June 16th at the Università degli Studi di Milano Statale.
Valentino currently owns and operates 75 retail locations that offer men’s and women’s items, as well as an additional 25 boutique stores that are dedicated specifically to their menswear. However, a recent article reported that menswear only accounts for approximately 14% of Valentino’s sales.
Valentino CEO, Jacopo Venturini, says that there are “great opportunities” in the menswear segment, and they intend to take advantage of them. The brand intends to increase distribution of their menswear lines next year into major cities, some of which being Paris, Shanghai, Nagoya, Wuhan, and New York City.
The show itself, “Valentino The Narratives,” will be accessible to watch, thanks to Pierpaolo Piccioli, Creative Director of Valentino. Piccioli wants to improve the inclusivity of Valentino to embrace the younger demographic as well. With this vision, the show is allowing the University’s students to attend the show on campus.
“Valentino The Narratives” will also be accessible across the globe, with livestreams occurring both on the official Valentino website as well as on Valentino social media accounts.
