Maxi Meraki Lights Up All Day I Dream LA with Sunset Grooves and Global Heat

On a golden May afternoon in downtown Los Angeles, beneath lanterns swaying in the wind and clouds blushing with sunset, All Day I Dream returned to Pershing Square to do what it does best: transform a concrete patch of the city into a melodic mirage. As the crowd eased into the day’s hypnotic rhythm, it was Maxi Meraki who took the decks and dialed in the magic early—setting the tone before Lee Burridge took it deep into the night.

The Belgian DJ/producer has been on a slow-burning rise since 2019, but this set felt like a coming-out party. Ethereal, groovy, cinematic—Meraki’s sound falls somewhere between melodic house and deep techno, with a pulse rooted in emotion and a floor-focused instinct for euphoria. From the first drop to the final clap, he moved the crowd like a seasoned dream-weaver, sliding between remixes of RÜFÜS DU SOL, Mahmut Orhan, and his own original heaters like Dare Your Move and If You Need It.

“I wanted to tell a story,” Meraki later shared in our interview, reflecting on the set’s pacing and energy. “Something emotional, but that still made people dance.” It worked.

Whether you were a longtime All Day I Dream (“ADID”) disciple or a first-time floater caught in the candlelight haze, the energy at Pershing was pure magic: blankets laid across concrete like altars, fans trading sage smoke and stories under suspended canopies, and a sound system that kissed the sky with every dreamy build.

All Day I Dream has been at this for over a decade—an ever-expanding world led by Lee Burridge and shaped by a rotating cast of global selectors. This year’s tour hits seven cities across North America, including Montréal, San Francisco, Chicago, Brooklyn, and Toronto, wrapping with a twilight session on the beaches of Georgia.

As for Meraki, 2025 is only getting started. With a summer full of international bookings—from Ibiza’s Ushuaïa to Green Valley Brazil to Brooklyn Mirage—he’s quickly cementing his spot on the global melodic house map. Beyond the booth, he’s launching his own label, dropping a more cinematic single this summer, and teasing collabs with artists he’s “admired for years.”

If his All Day I Dream set is any sign, Meraki’s not just chasing the dream—he’s headlining it.

First off, thanks for catching up with us following your set at All Day I Dream. Gotta start with our signature Frank151 question: If you could throw your own festival, who’s headlining? Top 3 picks — dead or alive, no rules.

Appreciate you having me! That’s a tough one, but here’s my dream lineup: Prince — for the sheer artistry and energy, Daft Punk — because come on, it’s Daft Punk, and then Solomun — he just never misses and stays one of my all time favorites!.

How was your All Day I Dream set? Do you prep differently for festivals compared to a club gig, or do you just vibe it out once you’re there?

All Day I Dream was magical. The crowd was fully locked in, the setting was unreal — it felt like we were floating. I definitely prep differently for festivals. You’ve got a bigger space, a daytime crowd, and usually more emotional highs and open-air energy, so I tailor the set to that. But I always leave room to feel out the crowd and let the vibe guide me. That’s where the magic happens.

Melodic Techno’s been blowing up lately. How would you describe your own sound these days? What do you think makes your style stand out from the crowd?

Yeah, melodic techno is having a serious moment, and it’s beautiful to see. My sound is somewhere between melodic and deep house, with a strong emotional thread. I love layering hypnotic rhythms with uplifting melodies — something that pulls you in but still makes you want to move. I think what sets me apart is that balance between groove and emotion. I want people to feel something deeper while they dance.

Your All Day I Dream set was incredible — you really got the crowd hyped before Lee Burridge came on. And those remixes you dropped had everyone going wild. What was your mindset going into that set?

Thank you! Honestly, I was just focused on creating a journey. I knew I was setting the stage for Lee Burridge, who’s a legend, so I wanted to warm things up properly but also bring some moments of surprise. I snuck in a few unreleased edits and remixes that I knew would catch people off guard in the best way. My mindset was: connect with the crowd, tell a story, and make it memorable.

What’s the party scene like in Belgium these days? Different energy compared to Miami or Ibiza?

Belgium has a super passionate scene. It might be smaller than Miami or Ibiza, but the energy is real. People there truly listen to the music — they’re in it for the experience, not just the selfie. That said, every city brings its own flavor. Miami is wild and electric, Ibiza is spiritual and iconic. I love bouncing between them all and drawing inspiration from each.

You’ve dropped some fire remixes — songs from Rüfus Du Sol, Mahmut Orhan, and more. How do you decide which tracks you want to flip? Is it instinct or strategy?

Thanks! Honestly, it’s mostly instinct. If I hear a track and it gives me goosebumps or makes me immediately imagine how I’d reinterpret it, that’s the one. Of course, sometimes there’s a bit of strategy — picking something that resonates with both underground heads and wider audiences — but if it doesn’t move me first, I won’t touch it.

If you could collaborate with anyone — electronic world or totally outside of it — who’s on your dream list?

From the electronic world, I’d also love to work with Solomun or Adriatique — their sound design and consistent shows and energy is unreal. Outside of that, collaborating with someone like Ellie Goulding would be insane. Her voice and emotional depth would pair beautifully with a melodic electronic backdrop.

Last one — what’s next for Maxi Meraki this year? Any new tracks, projects, or surprises we should keep an eye out for?

Plenty in the pipeline! I’ve got a new single dropping this summer that’s a bit more cinematic and emotional — really proud of this one. I’m starting my own label in the next upcoming months, so exciting times ahead. Also working on a few collabs that I can’t talk about just yet, but they’re with some artists I’ve admired for a long time. And of course, more shows coming up, at some venues that were on my wishlist for years. Stay tuned!
