While visiting his son at college for the weekend, Will Ferrell revived his old character of Frank the Tank as he hit the DJ booth and took over.
The 56-year-old actor showed up and showed out for the Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity, getting fully into the role as he took over the DJ booth sporting sunglasses and the DJ headphones while clapping and bopping along to the beat. He displayed his DJ skills while playing “Eye of the Tiger” and even “N****s in Paris,” which famously features a Will Ferrell line from Blades of Glory.
Videos of Ferrell at the frat party have gone viral on TikTok and Instagram, showing the students cheering him on as they awaited the USC v. University of Arizona football game for Trojan Family Weekend. The “Old School” actor graduated from USC in 1990 and has since been a well-valued alumni, even speaking at the University’s 2017 commencement.
Ferrell’s oldest son, Magnus, followed in his father’s footsteps and began attending USC last year. His other two sons, Mattias and Axel, are currently 16 and 13. During an interview back in 2015, Ferrell joked that being a father to 3 boys is similar to “running a prison,” saying: “what happens with three boys is you end up barking out orders like, ‘Upstairs now!’ ‘Brush
teeth!’ ‘Lights out!’ There is so much chaos you can’t really take the time to articulate.”
Will Ferrell seems to have made it over the hump of the early days of fatherhood as he has transitioned into moonlighting as his son’s college DJ. Students and fans of Will Ferrell alike were excited and humored to see the iconic actor enjoying himself in the chaos.
