Who Should Really Wear the Muzzle?

Last week Timbaland spoke out about the Britney v. JT drama while speaking at an event in Washington D.C.; Timbaland brazenly told the crowd that Timberlake should have “put a muzzle on that girl,” and fans now think Timbaland deserves the muzzle.

While at his event, ‘Sound Architects: A Producer Conversation with Timbaland,’ a member of the crowd asked Timbaland’s thoughts on Britney’s recent claims against his long-time friend Justin Timberlake. The fan mentions the fact that ‘Cry Me a River’ is hitting big again after the release of Spears’ memoir, to which Timbaland replies: “She going crazy . . . I wanted to call JT and say ‘you gotta put a muzzle on that girl, man!’”

Following the release of Britney Spears’ autobiography there have been many strong allegations made against Justin Timberlake, including use of a blaccent as well as forcing an abortion on Spears. In the memoir, Britney wrote: “Sometimes, I think [*NSYNC] tried to hard to fit in. One day, J and I were in New York going to parts of town I’d never been to before. Walking our way was a guy with a huge blinged-out medallion. He was flanked by two giant security guards. J got all excited and said so loud, ‘Oh yeah, fo shizz, fo shizz. Genuwine! What’s up homie?’”

Britney fans are incredibly unenthused with Timbaland’s comment, especially considering Spears’ history of being silenced. Fans quickly took to social media to share their disdain for Timbaland’s distasteful comment. Some decided to announce that Timbaland has lost their support altogether, as they will no longer be streaming his music. Another fan voiced their confusion and anger by saying: “Why do men feel like they can silence women, he’s a weirdo.”

Someone went as far as to dig up some of Timbaland’s past, saying: “I’m glad Britney is speaking up, their reactions are just proving that everything she said is true. Timbaland is the one who needs a muzzle. We didn’t forget about his gross Aaliyah comments. He’s still upset Britney didn’t want to work with him. A nasty man.”

Although Timberlake has not commented on any of the claims made, multiple of Timberlake’s long-time friends have spoken out to stand up for the *NSYNC star. Most have received little- to-no backlash, but Timbaland’s comment seems to have hit a little close to home for Britney fans.
