The legendary skateboarder Tony Hawk will be headlining the free Jackalope sports festival, which will take place June 2-4 on the oceanfront in front of Neptune’s Park. At the annual Virginia Beach State of the City ceremony on Wednesday, the star announced the news via video.
Hawk will participate in the Vert Showdown showcase at 8:30 p.m. on June 3. That event will also feature 10-year-old skater Reese Nelson and local skateboarder Collin Graham, according to the festival website.
Originally announced at the 2022 State of the City event, the Jackalope festival will also feature BMX, surfing, and other extreme sports.
