With their previous events being held in Perth and Melbourne, this colossal sneaker convention made its return, turning Carriageworks into a bustling hub that provided a safe space to celebrate street culture, the community, and of course, beloved sneaker of all shapes and sizes.
Living up to its name, attendees were greeted by an awe-inspiring showcase of some of the world’s most exclusive sneaker and streetwear pieces. Prices of some going upwards to ten-fold from what they originally retailed for. The event featured an impressive lineup of 50 sneaker vendors, including familiar brands such as Foot Locker, Throwback Store, and Goorin Bros. The ‘Sneakerhead Market’ offered a vibrant space where local brands, collectors, buyers, influencers, and creatives converged to share, sell, buy, and trade the rarest sneakers and apparel on the market.
The Sneakerland experience extended far beyond mere sneakers. Foodies indulged in delectable treats from food trucks, while those seeking a refreshing sip found their place at the curated on-site bar. Style enthusiast embraced on-site services, including braids, haircuts, and tattoos. Throughout the day, beats continuously dropped courtesy of DJs, providing the perfect soundtrack for the dance floor.
The excitement didn’t stop there. Sneakerland Sydney played host to a 1v1 basketball tournament and a dance competition, where participants showcased their skills and to stand a chance for cash prizes totalling up to $3,000. To add even more excitement, there was even a trip giveaway for 2 to the Goldcoast. Whether you’re a veteran sneakerhead, a dance enthusiast, or a basketball prodigy, Sneakerland had something for everyone.
Taking over Carriageworks from 9 am to 5 pm, Sneakerland delivered a day packed with interactive activities and experiences. Admission was priced at $40 for adults, and $20 for kids aged 6-17, and families of four enjoyed entry at $25 per person, making it accessible and inclusive for sneakerheads of all ages.
Sneakerland Sydney featured diverse vendors, from sneaker resellers to brand representatives, and art creatives, ensuring a comprehensive and vibrant showcase of the sneaker culture.
