As Pharrell prepares for his official debut at the creative director of Louis Vuitton, he took to social media to give his followers a little teaser of what’s to come.
In a recent Instagram post, Pharrell shared a photo showcasing himself in front of a massive billboard in Paris, featuring the first Louis Vuitton campaign starring Rihanna. Rihanna is dressed in an all-black ensemble that beautifully contrasts against the vibrant colors of Louis Vuitton’s iconic Keepall silhouettes, proudly shows off her pregnancy glow.
This collaboration between Pharrell and Rihanna is not their first. The duo’s relationship dates back to before their successful collaboration on N.E.R.D’s comeback track “Lemon” in 2017. Rihanna also previously announced in 2020 that the two were working together on her highly anticipated new album, further solidifying their creative connection. With their shared passion for pushing boundaries and redefining the norms of artistry, it comes as no surprise that they have come together for this groundbreaking Louis Vuitton campaign.
Pharrell’s association with Louis Vuitton stretches back over many years, marked by numerous memorable collaborations. Almost two decades into his relationship with the fashion house, Pharrell has been appointed as the creative director of Louis Vuitton’s menswear line, succeeding the late Virgil Abloh.
Pharrell’s first collection for Louis Vuitton will debut on June 20th at Paris Fashion Week.
