The magazine stopped printing in 2020 and will debut later this year.
The online publication is introducing Playboy’s “creator platform,” which is said to be an “elevated,” “safe” and “exclusive” alternative to OnlyFans.
Instead of Playboy bunnies, there will be Playboy creators who post adult and non-adult content. This will give subscribers exclusive access to their lives and grace the magazine’s online covers. Like OnlyFans, it will allow the creators to cultivate paying subscribers.
“Our Playboy creator platform is the Playboy magazine for the 21st century,” Playboy’s chief brand officer Rachel Webber said. “We’re putting the power of content creation in the hands of the creative community and giving them the tools to interact with and monetize their fanbases directly.”
The big difference between OnlyFans and Playboy is that while anyone can become an OnlyFans creator, Playboy’s creators must apply and be accepted by its editorial team.
Playboy and OnlyFans have similar features such as allowing users to subscribe and pay to view adult and non-adult content, being able to message the creators, and getting access to the creator’s daily lives.
