In the excitement of his new show, ‘The Idol’ on MAX, The Weeknd took to social media last night to announce that he will be releasing new music from the series every week, with each episode of the show.
The Weeknd co-created and co-stars in the new series, which just premiered its first episode this past Sunday. The Idol centers around pop star Jocelyn, played by Lily Rose Depp, who meets a club owner/cult leader, Tedros, played by The Weeknd. Throughout the series Jocelyn falls for Tedros as her career and life continue to spiral. Fans have been looking forward to the series airing for quite some time now.
Now in addition to getting to watch the highly-anticipated series, fans and viewers will get to listen to the new music created through for the series. In his Instagram post last night, The Weeknd teases the continual drop of new music and gives fans insight into which songs will be coming out next.
The Weeknd’s announcement on Instagram read: “I was planning on dropping the whole soundtrack for Idol by the finale, but I’m too hyped…instead, I wanna drop new music from the show every week with each episode. I’m excited for you guys to hear what we’ve been cooking and all these incredible artists that are a part of this show…this week… Jocelyn’s pop song “word class sinner” and “the lure” (theme score)…episode 2 this Sunday😈 ”
