This past Saturday, Megan Thee Stallion turned down the opportunity to headline at the Global Citizen Festival to join Queen Bey on stage for her last stop along the Renaissance Tour in Houston, TX.
Megan Thee Stallion was scheduled as the festival headliner for Saturday night before Beyoncé reached out asking her to be a guest performer at her last tour stop. As a longtime fan and supporter of Queen Bey, Meg simply could not turn her offer down. The festival released a tweet earlier in the day to confirm to their audiences that Megan Thee Stallion would not be performing with no explanation other than an “unforeseen scheduling conflict.”
It seems that Meg made the right decision for herself, as videos of her performance with Beyoncé show a touching moment between the two. As Meg joined Beyoncé on stage to perform their hit “Savage (Remix)” live together for the first time, Beyoncé couldn’t help but share her love for the Houston rapper.
She yelled to the crowd: “I want y’all to let us hear how proud you are. Does she make you proud? She makes me proud! I love you girl!” Megan Thee Stallion yelled back “I love you Beyoncé” to Queen Bey, unable to contain a little side of fangirl that squeaked out.
She may have missed headlining at the Global Citizen Festival, but it appears that Megan Thee Stallion has no regrets as she lived out a dream of not only performing with Beyoncé, but also being told that Beyoncé loves her and is proud of her.
