Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign have apparently cut out a portion of their newest single “Vultures,” which includes the entire verse from Lil Durk.
The song premiered on the radio last week and consisted of all 3 artists, Ye, Ty Dolla $ign and Lil Durk. However, when the song made its way to streaming platforms today, Lil Durk’s verse is no where to be found.
Ty Dolla $ign and Ye are currently working on a joint album, and claim that the official version of “Vultures,” which includes Bump J but not Lil Durk, will be on the album. There has been no explanation from West, Ty Dolla $ign or Bump J as to why they would have removed Lil Durk’s verse, but fans are not so thrilled with the update to the track.
Many have taken to social media to express their disappointment, even saying that Lil Durk was the highlight of the song. A post on X said: “Crazy that Lil Durk got kicked off Kanye West’s Vultures even tho he carried and had the best verse.” Another fan concurred, saying: “Why did Kanye get rid of the Durk verse. That was the best part of the song.”
Lil Durk was also clearly unamused at the discovery of being removed from the single, as he took to his Instagram Story to comment back. Durk kept his response short and tame, simply posting a black screen with text that said: “Be lucky I’m humble look at it as your blessing.”
Immediately after it was aired on the radio last Friday, “Vultures” caught some heat when fans heard Ye’s line: “How I’m antisemitic? I just f**ked a Jewish b***h.” While we won’t get into the messy details of Ye’s history of unhinged comments, we will say the new song caught fans attention right away, just not quite for the right reasons.
With this major criticism hitting the track initially, the removal of a fan-favorite verse has only earned the track further complaints from fans and seems to have soured the taste of Ye and Ty Dolla $ign’s names for Lil Durk, but who could blame him?
