Kanye West dropped out of Coachella last minute earlier this week. West was previously scheduled to be the headliner of this year’s Coachella festival in California. West was planning on bringing Travis Scott to the stage with him, but that’s now all gone to shit. Travis was booked for 2022, but after the tragedy at Astroworld, Coachella said NOPE and pulled the plug on that idea. West was scheduled to perform on April 7th and April 24th.
Now, it’s unclear as to why Kanye West has pulled the plug on his Coachella performance. But I think it’s safe to say, the man has been having a hard few months, considering his divorce from Kim Kardashian is still ongoing and his anger towards Pete Davidson and Trevor Noah has been on full display for the world.
Coachella made it official on Wednesday morning with a new poster posted on Instagram. The Weeknd and Swedish House Mafia are now the headliners taking Kanye West’s slot. The Weeknd has also confirmed this change via Instagram. He’s performed at Coachella three times before, including in 2012, 2015, and 2018.
