As the year comes to an end, Jay-Z has hit his fans with his favorite songs from 2023 with his end of the year playlist, “Couple Songs of ’23” on Tidal.
With a total of 40 songs from throughout the year, it is no shock that it covers plenty of R&B and hip-hop tracks. Those on the list have officially received their seal of approval from HOV himself.
To no surprise, the playlist shows his wife some love and admiration, using an image from Beyoncé’s ‘Renaissance’ tour as the playlist cover and including the track “My House” from the ‘Renaissance’ album. Other hit songs from the year like Travis Scott and Playboi Carti’s “FE!N,” Gunna’s “fukumean,” and J. Cole & Lil Yachty’s “The Secret Recipe.” Drake made the playlist 4 times, with his recent hits “8am in Charlotte,” “First Person Shooter” with J. Cole, “IDGAF” with Yeat, and “Red Button.”
The playlist is filled with notable artists, including André 3000, Don Toliver, Offset, Nicki Minaj, Quavo, Latto & Cardi B, Nas, Lil Durk and more. Among the list of the music industry icon’s top picks sits a more questionable choice – a recent Diddy release: “Boohoo” with Jeremih.
In all its glory and possible slight controversy, Jay-Z’s end of the year playlist is out now on Tidal in their ‘Curated By: Jay-Z’ page, alongside his roundups from 2018-2022 and an extra “2020 vision COVID 19” playlist.
