Designer and Creative Jerry Lorenzo takes us on a journey from working in retail and throwing parties in Los Angeles, to crafting his own perfect t-shirt and accompanying brand, Fear of God.
In this episode, Lorenzo sits down with Noah Callahan-Bever to discuss how he pivoted from pursuing a career in sports management, to embedding himself in the bubbling streetwear scene by throwing parties for the industry’s biggest players. This led to Lorenzo creating his own line of clothing, and gaining the attention of Virgil Abloh, Kanye West, and later Justin Bieber. While Fear of God became one of the most successful luxury lines in fashion, Lorenzo saw his star rise even further with the launch of his mass market spinoff, Essentials… and it all started with one idea.
