After erasing all of his existing Instagram posts to make room for a cryptic Reel, Nas has announced the release of a surprise new ‘Magic 3’ album releasing on his birthday.
Over the weekend, Nas decided he wanted a clean slate to announce his third ‘Magic’ album in collaboration with Hit-Boy. His first post to his freshly cleaned Instagram account was a Reel with no caption; the Reel displayed TV static until finally revealing a letter “N” and cutting to a black screen with the words “The Finale” appearing at the end. Nas took a few days before posting again, letting his followers and fans speculate as to what the rapper has up his sleeve.
Yesterday, Nas posted again to his Instagram account with what appears to be the album cover art, and announced the upcoming ‘Magic 3’ album. The caption on his post reads:
“I want to thank everyone for taking this ride with Hit-Boy & I. It’s been nothing short of Magical! The Album Drops On My Birthday. THURSDAY 9•14 at 9PM. Forever Grateful, Enjoy!! Nasir Jones”
Fans have been quite excited since hearing the news, as no one was expecting another album from Nas after he just dropped his last one. The original ‘Magic’ album was released just under 2 years ago in December of 2021. After positive feedback on the first album, Nas and Hit-Boy got together again to release the ‘Magic 2’ album, which dropped less than 3 full months ago, in July of 2023. After seeing about a year and a half go by between ‘Magic’ and ‘Magic 2,’ no fans were expecting to see the album set become a trilogy this early on.
Nas has always stayed a consistent established presence in the rap world. ‘Magic 3’ will mark his 17th studio album and will be his 6th studio album release in only about three years. Don’t miss ‘Magic 3’ releasing this Thursday, September 14th at 9PM on Nas’s 50th birthday.
