After multiple speculated release dates led to disappointment, Drake has finally announced the official release date of his long-awaited ‘For All the Dogs’ album.
Drake has been teasing fans with the upcoming release of ‘For All the Dogs’ for quite some time now and anticipation is running high. On Instagram last night, the 6 God posted a video of his father, Dennis Graham, performing on ‘Stormy Monday with Danny Marks,’ an old Canadian TV show. The video is almost 4 minutes long showing his father’s entire performance from the 90’s and is simply captioned: “FOR ALL THE DOGS SEPTEMBER 22.”
Before the video post made the release date official, Drake posted a slightly cryptic teaser to his Instagram Story as well. He showed his followers the back of his head, adorned with braids and accessories that wrote out the numbers 0922. Fans jumped on the opportunity to decode this Story and began hoping that it symbolized the album’s true release date.
The last time that fans thought they knew the release date was August 25th. On the 24th, Amazon Music tweeted a “confirmation” of ‘For All the Dogs’ releasing the 25th. This tweet was promptly deleted by Amazon Music, but not before fans caught wind of the fake news and began hyping themselves up.
While they patiently wait, Drake has continued to tell fans that the album is coming soon. Just last month he said “It’s not going to be that much longer, trust me. I’m finishing it up. You know I got shows everybody. But I promise you, ‘For All the Dogs’ is on the way. If you never loved anything I’ve ever done in the past, I promise you, this album will be for you. It’ll be worth the wait.”
And now the waiting finally has an end date. Check out Drake’s announcement of the release date on his Instagram, here. Watch out for Drake’s ‘For All the Dogs,’ dropping in just over 2 weeks, on September 22nd.
