For their fourth collaboration, Champion and Rick Owens have teamed up yet again to make their concept of contemporary athleticwear come to life.
The collection includes both men’s and women’s pieces that display the classically bold style of Rick Owens while keeping things truly comfortable with the materials used. The pieces include jackets, asymmetric tops, long cutoff tops, tank tops, sweatshirts and more. With the use of terry, athletic mesh, crinkle nylon, and organic cotton, each piece is wearable and stylish. The collection mainly uses neutrals: black, light gray and taupe, with a pop of color through the coral pieces.
Owens told reporters, “When I started my label in the nineties, I hand drew my logo as a cross between the Champion logo and a Jean Patou perfume label . . . they both had a similar vintage calligraphic flair . . . I wasn’t conscious of it then, but I see now how that balance has defined my ongoing aesthetic.”
The collaborative collection will be released next Thursday, May 25th and will be available through both the Champion and Rick Owens websites.
