Last night Cardi B announced that a new single, “Bongos” with Megan Thee Stallion, will be dropping soon.
Cardi B’s Instagram post served as the announcement, giving fans a look at the single’s cover art featuring the two rap queens in small, colorful onesies with brightly multicolored hair. Cardi kept the announcement short and sweet, captioning the cover art by simply saying “BONGOS Cardi x Megan Thee Stallion 9/8.”
In a recent interview, Cardi told reporters that her next album is coming soon on the heels of her new singles. She said “Everyone always tells me I should put the record out now, they did when I released ‘WAP’ and when I released ‘Up,’ but I always let them know I’m not going to wait long after all these singles. So stay tuned because it’s coming out very soon.”
“WAP” was released in 2020 and was the last time Cardi and Megan worked together. The single quickly hit the top of the charts and has since been certified platinum 7 times over. With the release date of “Bongos” being this Friday, fans do not have long to wait before they can hear the new track from the iconic duo.
It is unclear whether or not “Bongos” will have a spot on Cardi’s new album, but if “WAP” was any indicator of what this pair can do, it seems likely that they will have another hit regardless.
