Aminé has been a brand ambassador for New Balance since 2022, and will now officially be collaborating with the brand to create his own sneaker.
Now that his newest album in collaboration with Kaytranada, KAYTRAMINÉ, was dropped earlier this May the artist feels that he can fully focus on his new collaboration. Fans of both Aminé and New Balance have suspected this collaboration would arise. New Balance has placed Aminé in numerous campaigns and has been working with other musicians, such as Jack Harlow and Action Bronson, on other projects.
It is unknown what style of sneaker Aminé will choose to put his own spin on. He has been spotted wearing multiple kinds of New Balances including the 990v3, 2002R and 992, which has led fans to make assumptions that he may lean towards similar style. Regardless of which silhouette he chooses, there’s no doubt that the rapper will put a fun and fresh spin on the design.
Aminé posted a promo video of his billboard in his hometown of Portland to announce the official collaboration. The billboard shows wooden crates of bananas alongside words that say “A Kid From Portland Has His Own Sneaker.”
There is no release date set for the Aminé edition New Balance sneakers.
