Yesterday A$AP Rocky took to Instagram to announce the release of his new single, “Riot (Rowdy Pipe’n).”
Although A$AP has been fairly quiet, as far as new music goes so far this year, with his last release being his single “Same Problems” at the beginning of 2023. He also guest featured on Tyler, the Creator’s album CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST: The Estate Sale version in “Wharf Talk” this past March. The rapper has stayed busy in ways outside of music as well, including continuing to build his family with Rihanna.
A$AP announced the single’s release on Instagram with a video of his directorial debut of a Beats commercial along with a few photos from the commercial. The new single plays throughout the commercial, giving fans a sneak peek at the sound. “Riot (Rowdy Pipe’n),” produced by Pharrell, begins with a harmony of horns and synths to establish the beat before A$AP comes in to take over. The song includes multiple nods to his partner and baby mamma, Rihanna, even hinting at marriage as he says “My wife is erotic, I’m smokin’ exotic” in the opening line.
“Riot (Rowdy Pipe’n)” is supposedly from A$AP’s upcoming fourth album, Don’t Be Dumb. Don’t Be Dumb will follow a full 5 years after A$AP’s third studio album, Testing, which was released in 2018.
You can watch A$AP’s Beats commercial on his Instagram. Don’t Be Dumb does not yet have a release date, but “Riot (Rowdy Pipe’n)” is out now and available to stream on Apple Music and Spotify.
