In recent news, Florida rapper Kodak Black finds himself in legal trouble once again. Allegedly, he missed a required drug test in his ongoing felony drug case, leading to yet another criminal charge. This incident marks the second time he has failed to comply with the mandated drug testing.
Kodak Black’s legal troubles began on July 16 of last year when he was initially arrested. The charges against him included trafficking in oxycodone, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, as well as driving with an expired license and tags. After being released on a $75,000 bond, he was placed under strict pretrial release conditions, which included mandatory drug testing. According to a report from Local 10, Kodak Black missed a required drug test recently, resulting in an arrest warrant being issued on June 14. This is the second time he has failed to show up for a drug test in his ongoing case. As a result, he is now facing another criminal charge.
Following the issuance of the arrest warrant, Kodak Black and his legal team appeared in the Broward County courtroom to address the situation. According to his lawyer, the rapper was out of town when he was first asked to take the drug test. Additionally, he claimed that the second test he took was a mix-up. During the hearing, Kodak Black expressed his frustration with the situation, stating, “There’s just so much with this that’s unjust and not right about this situation.” He further expressed concern about his character being assassinated and the lack of media attention on his positive actions.
Earlier this year, Kodak Black also missed a drug test, which he later made up for. However, the subsequent test came out positive for Fentanyl, leading to a judge revoking his release and issuing an arrest warrant. The rapper’s legal team argued that he had not tested positive for Fentanyl and had been seeking treatment for addiction to other drugs.
During a court appearance in March, Kodak Black’s lawyer raised concerns about a possible mix-up of urine samples by a star-struck employee handling the tests. The employee testified that an error may have occurred during the testing process. In response, Judge Barbara Duffy suggested taking a hair sample for further analysis, but Kodak Black refused.
As a result of the failed drug test and subsequent arrest warrant, Kodak Black was ordered to enter rehab for a period of 30 days. This requirement aims to address his alleged drug addiction and provide the necessary support for his recovery. Kodak Black’s ongoing felony drug case has taken a turn with his recent failure to comply with mandatory drug testing, leading to another criminal charge. As he faces these legal challenges, it remains to be seen how this situation will unfold.
