Making a surf film is hard enough. It’s even harder when your team riders keep getting injured.
For Former — the brand founded by Dane Reynolds and Craig Anderson — those setbacks pushed back the release of their upcoming film Defect more than once. One of the biggest came during a trip to Chile when Craig snapped his ankle while traveling with fellow Aussie and Former rider Ben Howard.
Crutches and all, the trip still delivered a month of South American waves and plenty of footage. The result is “Defective Units Volume #01,” a 20-minute prequel edit cut by Dane Reynolds ahead of the full Defect film expected to tour in June.
