First announced in January of 2020, director James Mangold is creating a Bob Dylan biopic, “A Complete Unknown” starring Timothée Chalamet.
Mangold has currently also been working on the final Indiana Jones movie, coming to theaters late this June. Directly following the release of that, Mangold says he hopes to start filming for the biopic in August. The film is set to take place in New York, focusing mainly on the earlier years of Dylan’s career.
Chalamet will be starring, as Bob Dylan, alongside Woody Guthrie, Joan Baez, and Pete Seeger who “all have a role to play in this movie” according to Mangold. The director also revealed that Chalamet fully intends to do the singing for his role as Dylan, not rely on lip-syncing.
Since its announcement in 2020, fans have been looking forward to the release of “A Complete Unknown” and seeing Timothée Chalamet in another lead role. After 3 long years of waiting already past, hopefully we won’t have to wait too much longer before it hits the theaters.
