According to Chart Data, Ice Spice set a new record for the largest streaming debut of a female rapper in global Spotify history, a record previously held by Nicki Minaj.
In August of 2022, Nicki Minaj released “Super Freaky Girl,” which brought in 3.021 million streams on Spotify to earn her the record. “Super Freaky Girl” went on to become No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 list, and was Minaj’s first solo No. 1 track.
Late last week, “Karma (Remix)” by Taylor Swift featuring Ice Spice was released. The remix gained 5.036 million streams on Spotify by the end of the day on the 26th, the same day it was released. Ice Spice currently has about 10.5 million streams on Spotify, but nearly half of them have come within the past 4 days from the “Karma (Remix).”
