Nicki Minaj Petitioned to Leave Neighborhood

Nicki Minaj and her husband Kenneth Petty have found themselves at the center of controversy in their Hidden Hills neighborhood. A petition started by their neighbors is calling for the couple to leave the area due to safety concerns related to Petty’s status as a registered sex offender. The petition, titled “SAY NO TO SEX OFFENDERS IN HIDDEN HILLS,” raises concerns about the potential risk to residents and the negative impact on property values.

Resident Beverly Bardan took action by starting the Change.org petition after Minaj and Petty purchased their $19.5 million mansion in December. The petition claims that there is a “high likelihood” of Petty reoffending and argues that his presence in the neighborhood puts children and women at risk. The petition further contends that the couple’s move to Hidden Hills would drive down the value of homes and compromise the safety of the community.

“Kenneth Petty is a level 3 sex offender, convicted for the attempted rape of a 16-year-old girl, and has a high likelihood to reoffend,” the petition states. “He was also found guilty for killing a man. He is currently under house arrest for failing to register as a sex offender in California as law demands it. The Petty couple moving in would lead to appraisal value of our homes to go DOWN due to safety concerns. It would lead to children and women being a target.”

Kenneth Petty, who is also the father of Minaj’s infant son Papa Bear, was convicted of first- degree attempted rape in 1995 when he was 16 years old. He served over four years in prison for the offense and is required to register as a sex offender wherever he goes. However, in March 2020, Petty was arrested by the United States Marshals for failing to register as a sex offender in California. Last July, a judge sentenced Petty to three years of probation and a year of home detention. He was also ordered to pay a fine of $55,000. Despite these legal consequences, the Hidden Hills community remains concerned about the potential risks associated with having a registered sex offender living in their neighborhood.

Petty’s legal troubles and status as a registered sex offender have been a source of controversy and scrutiny for Minaj and her husband. The couple’s move to Hidden Hills has drawn attention to the issue, leading to public discussions about the responsibility of celebrities and the potential impact on their communities.

In addition to the petition, Minaj and Petty have faced other challenges, including false reports of child abuse and a house fire. Law enforcement officials received two separate 911 calls claiming that Minaj was abusing her child and that her house was on fire. However, upon investigation, these claims were found to be false. Minaj is not taking the incident lightly and has hired lawyers to ensure that those responsible for the false reports are held accountable.

Amidst legal consequences and controversies, Minaj and Petty must navigate the future of their presence in the neighborhood. This situation raises broader discussions about the responsibilities of celebrities and the importance of community safety. As the story unfolds, it will continue to shed light on these issues and their implications for both public figures and their neighbors.
