Louis Vuitton’s newest limited-edition apparel collection, a collaboration with Pharrell’s Something in the Water music festival, celebrates the next era of LV under Pharrell’s leadership.
Two months ago, Louis Vuitton announced Pharrell as their menswear creative director and have now officially released their first collection under the new leadership. The collection includes three different t-shirts, a checkered denim jacket, and a graphic hoodie. Each piece pays tribute to Pharrell’s hometown of Virginia Beach in slightly different ways.
The collection uses the state slogan for Pharrell’s home state of Virginia, “Virginia is for lovers,” featuring a slight twist to include to Louis Vuitton branding along with “PARIS TO VA, VA TO PARIS” printed across the backs. The collaborative slogan from the back of the t-shirts is also included on the denim jacket and hoodie included in the collection. The prices in the collection range from $860 for the t-shirts, up to $3,050 for the denim jacket.
Louis Vuitton specified that this limited-edition collection was created “in celebration” of Pharrell’s new role, but it was not designed by him. This leaves all the mystery surrounding Pharrell’s upcoming design styles in perfect tact, and leaves fans and loyal customers eager to see what he brings to Louis Vuitton.
The Something in the Water collaboration collection dropped last week at the start of the Something in the Water music festival, hosted in Virginia Beach. The festival included a pop-up storefront for VIP guests to purchase the limited-edition collection. The limited-edition collection is available now on the Louis Vuitton website.
