Joey Bada$$ took to Instagram earlier this week to announce that his new program, Impact MENtorship, will be officially launching on October 15th. The program will provide free mentorship to Black men in the United States and in Puerto Rico.
This Tuesday, Joey made the announcement to his followers by saying: “I’m excited to announce that I’ve been silently working on a free mentorship program for men of color in the US & Puerto Rico called @impactmentorship. Inspired by my friend @sophchangnyc & @unlockherpotential, I recruited an impressive network of incredible mentors in the areas of ART, CULINARY, FASHION, FILM/TV, MEDIA MUSIC, and SPORTS. Starting with myself, I will be announcing new mentors everyday until applications open on the 15th.”
The caption continued: “Applications open at noon on Sunday, October 15th and close noon Sunday October 29th. You can see more about the program at impactMENorship.org. Due to the high profile of our members we anticipate significant demand for the program. To increase your chances of catching with your chosen mentor, we strongly encourage all applicants to carefully research the program and mentors, prepare your application in advance and submit early. Good luck!”
The Impact MENtorship website states that all Black men over the age of 18 are eligible to apply for mentorship with applications opening on October 15th. As Joey Bada$$ mentioned in his announcement, all mentees will be able to receive guidance in both their professional and personal lives.
So far, Joey has announced 3 mentors that will be available in the program. These mentors include: Boston Celtics player Jaylen Brown, fashion designer Tremaine Emory, and technology & digital media guru 19 Keys.
