Insomniac brings the SoCal producer’s biggest headline show yet to the Hollywood Palladium on November 27th, with LA electro pioneer Egyptian Lover and riser Blank Sense sharing the historic stage.
Sunset Blvd doesn’t announce the Palladium so much as it just appears. The building is Streamline Moderne to its bones, all sweeping horizontals and Art Deco curves, landmarked by the LA Conservancy and the National Register of Historic Places alike. It’s hosted big-band residencies, the Lawrence Welk Show, punk riots, hip-hop coronations, and about eight decades of Hollywood pretending it’s still 1940. On November 27th, it hosts something it never has before: Devault.
Insomniac is billing it as the producer’s biggest headline show to date. He grew up in Orange County piecing tracks together as a teenager, broke through in 2017 with a DJ Snake remix Billboard named one of that year’s ten best, and released his debut LP, “Stay,” on Geffen the following year. What came next was a run of conceptually moody EPs — JADE, SAPPHIRE, RUBY, DIAMOND — each one leaning further into the dark, cinematic register that’s become his signature, the raw-emotion-and-shadow thing the press bios always reach for because it happens to be true.
Then the sound turned toward the floor. 2024’s collaboration-heavy SENSATION EP, featuring Slayyyter, EKKSTACY, and Tommy Genesis, marked the pivot; the deeper reinvention has come since he linked up with John Summit’s label, Experts Only, for a run of club-built singles. 2025’s “Feels Like Us” was the breakout.
April’s “Can’t Wait No More” — all coiled tech-house tension, a chopped “Can’t Make Me” vocal, and a laugh that shows up right when you don’t want it to — is the one that’s been closing his sets since. And “Shades of Blue,” his collaboration with John Summit and Julia Church, landed on Summit’s “CTRL ESCAPE” album.
What makes November 27th more than a routine flex, though, is who’s sharing the bill. Special guest Egyptian Lover isn’t a nostalgia booking as he’s the guy who helped invent the language Devault is now remixing for a new decade. Gregory Broussard built the LA electro-funk canon out of a Roland 808 and pure nerve, running with Uncle Jamm’s Army alongside a young Ice-T before “Egypt, Egypt” made his own name the genre. He’s to Los Angeles what Juan Atkins is to Detroit — foundational, and still very much active.
Doors are at 8 p.m., the show is 18+, and the Palladium sits at 6215 Sunset Blvd. Coordinates in the flyer itself bothers to print out to the second, like Devault wants you to know exactly where to find him. Fair enough. Some nights are worth being precise about.
