After revealing himself to multiple people on a plane, rapper Desiigner is now facing a misdemeanor indecent exposure charge.
According to a legal complaint filed, on April 17th, Desiigner was about an hour into a flight from Tokyo to Minneapolis on Delta Airlines when he initially exposed himself. After the initial exposure, the 25-year-old rapper covered himself up. Shortly after, flight attendants noticed him touching himself inappropriately and told him to stop. He stopped what he was doing, and the head flight attendant informed him that he would be taken into custody for the incident.
After this warning, Desiigner was seen exposing himself a third time and was removed from first-class and relocated to the back of the plane. The complaint claims that he dropped lubricant into the aisle while switching seats. Two people who were traveling with Desiigner told the flight crew that they would monitor him for the rest of the flight. Desiigner himself apologized to his security guard and the flight crew, saying he had “messed up.”
Once the plane landed, he was detained by authorities and taken to speak to FBI agents. While talking through the incident, the rapper told authorities that he “didn’t get much” in the way of sexual action on his trip to Japan and was “brick hard” after finding himself attracted to one of the flight attendants on the plane, caused him to expose himself. The complaint given to authorities stated that he thought showing his “magic stick” to the flight attendant would give her the “encouragement” to engage with him sexually.
Desiigner claims he was not under the influence of any drugs or alcohol on the flight, and the FBI agents that spoke to him upon landing agreed that he did not seem to be impaired. He was not taken into custody, but the rapper could face up to 90 days in custody and $500 in fines. Due to the incident, he has checked himself into a mental health facility.
He made a statement on Instagram last Thursday after the incident. Desiigner said, “For the past few months I have not been ok, and I have been struggling to come to terms with what is going on. While overseas for a concert I performed at, I had to be admitted in to a hospital, I was not thinking clearly. They gave me meds, and I had to hop on a plane home. I am ashamed of my actions that happened on that plane. I landed back to the states, and am admitting my self in a facility to help me. I will be cancelling all of my shows and any obligations until further notice. Mental health is real guys, please pray for me. If your not feeling like yourself please get help.”
