‘Boosie Badazz’ Claims Podcast Appearances Are Safer Than Club Gigs, Paid $40,000

Podcast interviews are apparently making Boosie Badazz rich.

During a recent livestream, the Baton Rouge rapper claimed he gets paid tens of thousands of dollars to simply “sit on a couch and talk.” He then explained why he preferred podcast appearances over nightclub hosting, saying the club gigs brought him more money but came with additional risks and hassles.

“[Podcasts are] way safer than that club with all them guns in that bitch,” Boosie said. [I’m] in front of somebody who ain’t gon’ hurt me. I think y’all should be happy I’m doing podcasts. I’mma live long doing podcasts. Way less dangerous than doing podcasts.”

He continued: “Would you rather do a show for [$60,000] or podcast for [$45,000]? I made that decision the other day. I took the [$45,000] over the [$60,000]. With the $60, I had to pay for flights, hotels, going to a dangerous-ass city. Shit is about being careful, man. I can sit for 45 minutes on a couch and just talk shit … That’s a blessing bro.”

Boosie has appeared in some of the most popular podcasts and web series, including Drink Champs, No Jumper, Bootleg Kev, and, most recently, VladTV. He created a bit of a stir on the latter platform, when he explained why he scrapped his collaborative project with T.I.

Boosie told the host he made the decision after learning Tip had allegedly cooperated with authorities to dodge a gun charge. He was referencing T.I.’s past comments about his late cousin, Toot, who allegedly offered to take the fall in a weapons case.

“After he had passed, I had a talk with him,” T.I. admitted in a 2020 episode of expediTIously. “Toot said, ‘I’ll take all the charges you got! If you can walk away free and put it on me, goddamn right! ’Cause I’ll be damned if they gonna come and motherfuckin’ extradite me from here!’”

Boosie wasn’t buying it.

“With the T.I. situation, if he did that—you a fucking rat, too,” he told Vlad. “I don’t spare no muthafuckin’ body. Because if you doing anything wrong, you doing anything criminal and you cooperate with law enforcement to get you out of trouble, that means you’re cooperating. That means you’re a rat. But I’ma tell you like this: When I saw that, I think, T.I. fucking lying. I think he went up there and just got to fucking talking. You think something happen at 17, 18 years old … you gon’ hold that in all them damn time? All this damn time for 20 some years, you gon’ hold that in? And it finally came out?”

T.I. has since provided paperwork that purportedly proves he never snitched.

Days later, T.I. suggested he and Boosie had squashed the drama.

“I believe that [Boosie] has come to terms with that understanding, and it’ll be handled offline,” he told TMZ. “It ain’t no beef.”
