Inspired by New Balance’s “When the going gets tough, the tough get going” ads, NYC brand Aimé Leon Dore shared a teaser poster for their collaboration with the footwear brand.
The teaser reimagines New Balance’s ‘90s ad campaign “When the going gets tough, the tough get going” by replacing the words to say, “The Intelligent Choice.” Based on the original ads, this one sees a classic New York City man in a classic Sunday morning outfit enjoying a cigar, walking his dog and picking up some groceries. Nothing captures New York City more than this right here. I can already smell my grandfather walking into the house shouting for someone to come help.

For now, we can check out some pictures courtesy of Ronnie Fieg who teased the collaboration on his Instagram story. From Fieg’s teaser, it seems like the box is dressed in an all over floral print and the pair comes with three hand balls. From the looks of it, this is shaping up to be a classic collaboration.
