Following reports of Michael Oher claiming that the Tuohy family never truly adopted him and instead tricked him into a conservatorship, Sandra Bullock says she is “heartbroken” that the film she believed in is based on a lie.
Bullock was incredibly dedicated to “The Blind Side” film, seeing the value in the heartwarming story. She even received an Oscar for her portrayal of Leigh Ann Tuohy. However after the news broke about Oher’s case, the film and role that she previously held so close to her heart has been soured.
A source close to Bullock told reporters that “there was so much hard work put into the film that they all thought was the truth and now that has been questioned, it just upsets Sandra to no end that a time in her life that was so special, is now shadowed with a completely different perspective.”
Bullock is allegedly still “putting up a strong face and a strong front” while she continues to process the reality of “The Blind Side” story. The source close to Bullock said the actress “hates that such a wonderful story, a spectacular movie, and a spectacular time in her life has now been tainted. . . Now people won’t watch it and if they do, they will have a completely different reaction to its original intention.”
After losing her partner, Bryan Randall, to ALS on August 5th, the source says that Bullock, who has already been going through “a rough patch,” is now “heartbroken in a different way with all the fallout from the Michael Oher news. . . She is figuring out how to move forward from it all, it is just going to take a little bit, but emotions are very high right now for Sandra and she is looking forward to better days ahead.”
With the loss of her partner and the reality of the story behind her hit film “The Blind Side” coming to light, Bullock has not been able to catch much of a break.
