After nearly five full days running from police, Bam Margera surrendered himself to the Pennsylvania State Police in Avondale on Thursday.
The warrant out for his arrest was for the assault, harassment and terroristic threats toward his brother, Jesse Margera, and other family members. The criminal complaint claims that Margera told his brother “I’ll kill you. I’ll put a bullet in your head,” and later Jesse found a note signed by Bam that said if he called the police “I will officially f— you up.” Along with the threats, Bam allegedly also punched his brother in the face and threatened to “kill everyone in the house.”
After this incident occurred this Sunday, police were called to the family’s home in Pocopson Township where Bam had fled into a wooded area prior to their arrival. Since then, Bam’s whereabouts were unknown until yesterday when he turned himself in to police.
Michael van der Veen, Bam Margera’s lawyer, said on Thursday that Bam has pleaded not guilty and that “Families have disputes all the time. Every family has disputes. This isn’t a dispute that should play out in the courts or the media.”
Bam has been preliminarily arraigned with bail set, unsecured, at $50,000. This unsecured bail means that Margera does not have to post any money and is “free to travel around and conduct business,” according to his lawyer. Margera is not allowed to leave the state, have any contact with the victims of the incident, nor return to his home where the incident occurred. His court hearing is scheduled for May 25th.
