The Weeknd and Future come together once again to give audiences their newest collaboration project, “Double Fantasy.” The Weeknd was one of three producers, alongside Mike Dean and Metro Boomin.
The song was released today along with its music video starring Lily-Rose Depp. The video acts as a small teaser for the upcoming series The Idol, in which The Weeknd is starring with Lily- Rose Depp.
The show follows a troubled popstar, Jocelyn played by Depp, as she enters a relationship with a cult leader, Tedros played by The Weeknd. Through a tumultuous relationship and trying to find herself in her stardom, the series will take audiences along for Jocelyn’s redemption.
The Idol already has a lot of fans excited and the release of a part of the soundtrack is only continuing to feed the fire. With his new title of “World’s Most Popular Artist” from the Guinness World Records earlier this year based on streaming records, The Weeknd seems like he’s on the right track for another hit. “Double Fantasy” is out now and available to stream on Apple Music and Spotify while the show is set to premier on HBO Max on June 4th.
