Recalling his arrest on February 3, he claims he was never told that he was being taken into custody saying, “I was just driving and I just seen guns and blue lights. And then, I was in the back of a car and I was gone.” He continues, “They didn’t say nothing. They just said, ‘We got Savage.’”

21 speaks on his early life in coming to America, recalling he came to Atlanta when he was only seven years old. He admits to not knowing much about the situation because he was so young at the time. When talking about living in Atlanta he says, “I’ve been here 20 years, 19 years. This is all I know.”

When discussing how the country handles immigration issues, 21 makes a powerful statement by saying, “I don’t feel like you should be arrested and put in a place where a murderer would be for just being in the country for too long.” He also vowed to use his platform to bring as much awareness to this issue as possible.

21 says, “I feel your pain, and I’m gonna do everything in my power to bring awareness to your pain.”

21 Savage’s legal team is standing by what they say in how they believe 21’s lyrics regarding immigration in his song “A lot” made him a direct target to ICE.
