Disney Unveils Official Trailer for ‘Tron: Ares’ Featuring Jared Leto

Disney has unveiled the first official trailer for Tron: Ares, the long-awaited third installment in the iconic Tron franchise. Arriving more than four decades after the original 1982 sci-fi classic, and nearly 15 years since Tron: Legacy hit theaters in 2010, the new film promises a bold expansion of the digital-meets-reality universe.

Jared Leto leads the cast as Ares, a program from the digital world who is sent into the real world — a first for the series. Joining him is franchise legend Jeff Bridges, returning as Kevin Flynn, the visionary programmer and game developer who first ventured into the Grid. While Flynn doesn’t appear on screen in the trailer, fans will recognize his voice at the end, ominously telling Ares, “Ready? Cause there’s no going back.”

The trailer kicks off with an electrifying chase scene, where a rogue program effortlessly outmaneuvers police in a dramatic sequence that ends with a light cycle slicing a cruiser clean in half — a thrilling nod to the franchise’s visual legacy. It offers a glimpse into the chaos and consequences when the virtual world begins to spill into our own.

Tron: Ares boasts an impressive ensemble cast including Evan Peters, Greta Lee, Jodie Turner-Smith, Cameron Monaghan, Sarah Desjardins, Hasan Minhaj, Arturo Castro, and Gillian Anderson. Peters plays Julian Dillinger, a character whose surname ties back to the original antagonist, Ed Dillinger, portrayed by David Warner.

The film is set to hit theaters on October 10. Check out the trailer below to dive into the next chapter of the Tron universe.
