Thousands of protesters showed up in Downtown Los Angeles last night in a march that began in front of City Hall and eventually went by a federal detention facility and across the 101 Freeway. As the protest marched by, inmates in downtown’s Central Metropolitan Detention facility flickered the lights of their cell phones on and off while banging on the windows. At several intersections drivers in stopped cars opened up their doors and windows while blaring “FDT,” YG and Nipsey Hussle’s anti-Trump anthem. Hundreds descended onto the freeway blocking off traffic for miles, according to the Los Angeles Times. Elsewhere protesters hoisted Donald Trump effigies high, and carried signs that ranged from pro-immigrant messages to “Y’all done goofed.” We were on the ground at the march with photographer Tucker Morrison who captured the images that follow.
